  • Green Group – Plastic Free Week - Green Group arranged a Plastic Free Week! The rules were that you had to come into school with a single-use plastic free lunchbox.   • Year 5 Dance Festival - On Tuesday 21st March year 5 went to the Dance Festival at Campus West in Welwyn Garden City. The dance festival contained four different schools, Welwyn St Marys, Temple wood, Oaklands and Harwood Hill. The theme for this year was ‘to infinity and beyond’.   • Thinking day - We supported Girlguiding in celebrating Thinking Day on Wednesday 22nd February by inviting all our children who are part of our local Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Cubs, Beavers and Scouts units to wear their Girlguiding or Scouting uniform to school.   • Table tennis tournament - On Thursday 10th November at Ridgeway Academy the year 4,5 and 6 table tennis team went to a table tennis tournament and we won 29 games out of 32.   • Tree Planting - In 2019 we began a project to plant a small wood at the back of the school playing field. Since then, we have planted approximately 500 trees and 700 hedge saplings, all native to English woods and hedges.
