  • Sherrards Wood Cross Country- On Wednesday 3rd April our Cross country team went to Sherrardswood school to compete in 4 cross country races.   • Welwyn St Mary’s Netball Team- On Wednesday 27th February, Welwyn St Mary’s played some friendly netball fixtures at Stanborough School.  In the team was Scarlett, Sally, Emma (C), Alice, Erin, Imogen, Lilly and Sophia.   • Welwyn St Mary’s Football Team- On Wednesday 27th February Welwyn St Mary’s played football fixtures at Monk’s Walk School. The team was Thomas, Luke, Stanley, James, Harry, Presley, Jasper, Holi, Edward and Ben. Our team participated in a range of different matches both on the grass and astroturf.   • Sons of Pitches- A huge thank you to Ms Anstey for organising the Sons of Pitches return visit to Welwyn St Mary’s. They were as talented as ever and delighted pupils with an assembly and workshop in the afternoon. The concert was probably the best event of the day.   • Year 4 Faith tour- Year four had the exciting opportunity to attend a ‘Faith Tour’, visiting three places of worship in the area of Queen’s Park in Bedford. Children first visited a mosque where they had a tour and presentation, learning about Islam and Mecca. Afterwards, children took a short walk to All Saints Church where they discussed the …
  • TAP Multi-sports at Gosling- On Friday the 8th of February, 60 selected students from local primary schools were invited to attend a multi-sports afternoon at gosling sports hall. The event was run by sports leaders from Monks Walk and Stanborough. The event saw children take part in 5 different activities, indoor curling, archery, shorts tennis, badminton and obstacle relays. …

  • Year 3 and 4 Maths Mastermind Workshop- On Wednesday 16th January, Bertie, Morgan, Leah, Albert, Ahrin and Jess attended a Maths Mastermind Workshop at Ardeley St Lawrence Primary School. The children completed a number of different challenges, using all their maths skills to work out answers. They worked incredibly hard, and had a brilliant time!
  • Cross Country Club- Our cross country team showed incredible determination and commitment during their training session at the end of January. Well done for persevering through the freezing conditions.      
  • Year 5 Athletics Team- On Wednesday 16th January the boys’ year 5 athletics team went to Gosling Sports Hall to compete in an indoor athletics festival.   • Year 5 and 6 Carol Service- Our annual carol service once again featured performances of spoken word, singing and drama of the highest standard. It was a wonderful way to conclude our celebrations here at Welwyn St Mary’s, and helped us to focus on the Christmas story. Well done to all children and staff.
