Computing

Through our computing curriculum pupils develop an appreciation for technology. They are taught to understand potential uses of, and develop problem solving skills for,  a wide range of technology and programs. We give our children the skills, strategies and knowledge to use the online world to their advantage, while staying safe and being aware of risks.

We have a large number of laptops and iPads, and every classroom is equipped with interactive whiteboards or screens. Computing is used across the curriculum to support learning in other subjects as well as stand alone computing lessons which build our pupils knowledge as they move through our school.

Safe access to the Internet in all classrooms enables staff and children to develop further our opportunities to communicate in this exciting and fulfilling subject.  As part of the school’s regular newsletters, information is shared from the National College with advice to support parents to keep their children safe online.
