I am delighted to welcome you to Welwyn St Mary’s C of E Primary School and am proud to be able to share with you all the wonderful things, which make our school such a special, fun and inspiring place to be and to learn.
At Welwyn St Mary’s, we are committed to children being at the heart of all of our decisions; to excel in all aspects of our educational provision and to achieve this aim within a safe, nurturing and loving Christian community.
We are a successful, large, two-form entry village school that aims to provide a stimulating and caring Christian environment, in which children can gain in experience and understanding, and develop, to the full, their own talents and abilities. This is underpinned by a strong Christian ethos and core Christian values, which help us to learn how to develop positive, caring relationships with others, based on mutual respect, inclusivity and tolerance, and to foster a strong sense of social responsibility.
Our dedicated, skilled and experienced staff strive to give their best to every child. We are committed to all of our children succeeding and flourishing within our school community. Our School Governors and Senior Leaders continuously seek to evaluate and improve our school for our children.
This results in high standards of achievement and we encourage every child to ‘be the best that they can be’ and reach their full potential. We aim for each child to make excellent progress, relative to their starting points, and we do our utmost to help them achieve this.
Choosing the right school for your child is a big decision for every parent and carer. Along with receiving an excellent holistic education, our key priorities are to ensure that your child is happy, safe and relishes their learning.
We would encourage you to visit our school; to meet us and to see our children and staff in action. We organise tours for prospective parents for our Reception intake and separately for in-year admissions. We look forward to welcoming you when you visit.
Kind regards
Mr Stuart Whiteland
Headteacher of Welwyn St Mary’s C of E Primary School
